Feeding 2000+ souls everyday
Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, Apni Roti is a Non-Governmental Organization. It is an initiative by Shivohum Balaji Seva Trust that aims to bridge the gap between the underprivileged and their basic human right, which is food. Believing in the upliftment of society, instead of distributing leftover food, Apni Roti prepares fresh meals to ensure every stomach is well-fed with nutritious food. Headed by Ms. Krishna Devi Agarwal and her son Vikash Agarwal, a social entrepreneur, this humble endeavor aims to bring change in the lives of the needy and deprived to empower them and trigger their development.
With quality meals and balanced nutrients, Apni Roti ensures that people from all walks of life do not suffer from the physical, mental, and emotional impacts of hunger oppression. A moral imperative, sharing food with the needy to improve their future, is Apni Roti's supreme aim.
A dynamic visionary and business entrepreneur, Vikash Agarwal initiated Apni Roti in 2019. He is a humanitarian who believes that Roti is a commodity everyone enjoys and unites people from different castes, religions, and other divisions. A firm devotee to the cause of giving back to society, he shaped his objectives into reality by starting with a food-delivering van in the streets and slums of Kolkata.
He acknowledges that by combining technology with community service, great deeds can be done for the needy strata of society. He aims to feed every hungry stomach before they hit the bed. He believes that every person is capable of making a difference in this world, and by providing nutritious and well-balanced meals, he wants to ensure that no potential goes to waste. A social changemaker, Vikash aims to remove hunger from its root to help underprivileged members live a comfortable and convenient life.
The honorable chairperson Ms. Krishna Devi Aggarwal is an active contributor to the progress and development of society. Under her guidance, Shivohum Balaji Seva Trust has continued its philanthropic journey by organizing various medical, food, and accommodation camps at pilgrimage sites of Gangasagar and Baidyanath Dhams, amongst many others. Apni Roti is one of her most prized initiatives, as she believes there is nothing nobler than satiating hunger and feeding others. She aims to reach out to every individual who needs nourishment, education, and other basic human rights.
